She came to L.A. to be cast on a role in Schindler's List
(1993), when she was discovered for the role in "My So
Called Life". Spielberg finally gave her the role but she turned
it down, because they weren´t willing to give her schooling in
Poland.

derogatory remarks about the country. The President of the
Phillipines condemned her publicly.
Claire was a TV star before she was cast in the role of one of the Little Women. Then she was cast in her biggest and most famous role as the love-struck Juliet in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. She also appeared in The Rainmaker.

Based on the unimaginably famous love story by William Shakespeare, this movie tells of the tale of two feuding families, the Mantagues and the Capulets. However two young lovers emerge, one from each family, and try as hard as they can to make peace between the familes, but it is not to be as tragedy strikes. Romeo is played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Juliet by Claire.

Based on the classic French novel by Victor Hugo, this is a tale about the exploits of one remarkable man, Jean Valjean, who was imprisoned for a stelaing a loaf of bread to feed his starving nephew. After many years on the run, with a new identity he (Liam Neeson), befriends a dying woman (Uma Thurman) and promises her that he will look after her young daughter (Claire Danes). After adopting her, they travel through France and wind up in Paris, where his daughter falls for a young militant, and only Jean Valjean can ensure their happiness.

After their high school graduation, two teenage girls, Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale, travel on their eagerly-awaited vacation to Thailand. Their dream vacation begins wonderfully, but soon it turns to hell. They are arrested for drug trafficking and face imprisonment of 33 years in a Thai jail. Bill Pullman is the expatriate American lawyer, who attempts to rescue them from imprisonment.
